Nineteenth Century Restorations is owned and operated by Daniel Riedemann,
a 5th generation carpenter who learned specialty restoration working with
his father and grandfather, learning since childhood. Through his
extensive experience in custom carpentry, plaster repair, and wood window
restoration, Daniel learned to appreciate and reflect in his work the
quality and style of 19th century techniques, but with modern amenities.
He incorporates building design which meets or exceeds current energy
efficiency standards. Completed projects include room additions and full
remodels of homes in west Plaza, old Leawood, Hyde Park, and Johnson
County, Kansas. He since relocated to Lawrence to raise a family and to
focus on historic preservation.
Today, Nineteenth Century Restorations works to preserve and restore homes
to the beauty and charm of our architectural history for future
generations. Honoring the tradition of hard work, skill and pride of
earlier generations who passed on their knowledge, we focus on building
with craftsmanship and integrity of the past while integrating
technologies of today.
Dan uses a hands on approach, working onsite, staying intimately involved
in every project from start to finish. In a day where builders often work
from the office and rarely step foot on the job site, Dan takes pride in
his close involvement which includes ensuring the highest standards are
met during each step of your project.
Reduce – Reuse – Recycle - Rebuild
Environmental sustainability is of great importance for Nineteenth Century
Restoration, which is why we enforce strict recycling standards on job
sites, salvage all reusable materials, and use reclaimed lumber and
materials. We also install the highest efficiency building materials for
HVAC, hot water tanks, insulation, windows, roofs, and cisterns.
